Percussion
Greer Band Booster Club is a non-profit organization.
Percussion Ensemble

The percussion ensemble is a group of dedicated students, under the direction of Sam Studley, who express their musical abilities through playing percussion instruments.  These students are the heartbeat of the Greer Band.  They pump up the crowds at football games, pep rallies, and parades with the energy and excitement of tight rhythms and cadences as well as accompany the various symphonic bands during concert season. During the summer and fall, the members of this ensemble form the drum line and front ensemble for the marching band.  These students strive to cultivate musical skills specific to percussion in a group learning environment, to demonstrate skillfulness in the command of fundamentals derived from practice and familiarity, and to increase the ability to decipher and interpret musical symbols with skill and precision.

Indoor Drum Line

The Greer Indoor Drum Line, under the direction of Sam Studley, is comprised of percussion students in grades 8-12 that play marching percussion or front emsemble instruments.. Performing in Indoor Percussion gives these students an opportunity to sharpen both their marching and percussion skills throughout the winter in a high energy, rock band type show. The Indoor Percussion performs their shows on basketball courts covered with a vinyl mat.
