The philosophy that the marching band has developed is one of pride and integrity. Putting on a great show every year is always the focus, but there is a constant emphasis on character building, teamwork, and leadership. The effort involved in putting together a successful marching band is infinite. The directors and staff log countless hours in order to help the students reach their potential as musicians and people. The students dedicate two weeks each summer and two afternoons a week to rehearsals. Every Friday night is spent supporting the football team in the stands and at half time. During competition season, Saturdays are set aside for additional rehearsals and performances around the Upstate. The work ethic and intensity shown at every rehearsal is proof that it is truly the journey that makes the difference.
