Greer Band Booster Club is a non-profit organization.
Color Guard
The Greer Color Guard consists of students in grades 8-12 that have the desire to perform with the Greer Marching Band. The Guard exists to add to and enhance the overall effect of the band's show. The use of colorful flags, sabers, rifles, and dance offer a breath-taking element to the on the field performance. Students who are interested in dance, choreography, and movement may choose to audition for our marching band Color Guard, Winter Guard or Prep Guard.
Winter Guard
The Greer Winter Guard is comprised of Color Guard students from the Greer Marching Band in grades 9-12. This ensemble is an extension of the marching band program and has been added to our band family to allow the students an opportunity to hone their flag spinning, saber, and rifle skills throughout the winter months.
The winter guard art form utilizes flags, rifles and sabers with one notable difference; the shows are all designed to be performed indoors on a basketball floor. The utilization of props, floor coverings and recorded music are all unique to this activity, which embodies elements of dance, theater and color guard.
The Greer Winter Guard won its first championship in 2005 as CIPA Novice A Circuit Champions.
The Greer Prep Guard is comprised of students in grades 6-8 that have the desire to perform with the Greer Marching Band. This group is an extension of the marching band program and has been added to our band family as a feeder program for the marching band, beginning the education of our color guard in middle school. The Greer Prep Guard placed third at the 2006 CIPA Circuit Championships in just its first year of existence.
