Funds provided by the school district do not cover all the costs necessary to support award winning bands. Less than ten percent of the costs to operate a band program for a school year is funded by the school district. The students are asked pay annual band dues, however, we still fall short of the required amount it takes to operate a band with over one hundred students. The Greer Bands Booster Club is responsible for raising the additional funds required to operate the band. We do this through fundraising.

The Band Boosters offer the students many fundraising opportunities to help offset band dues. By working at events and selling products throughout the year, many students cover the entire amount through fundraising! Once that goal has been met the students are encouraged to continue raising money for the general fund.

The members of the Greer high School Band give 100% on the marching field and in the concert hall. Parents and band families must give 100% to the fundraising opportunities that are provided throughout the year. As you can imagine, in an organization of this magnitude, fundraising is key to our financial success. Fundraising is one of the primary responsibilities of the Greer Bands Booster Club. All students have the opportunity to reduce their dues and contribute to the general fund by participating in fundraisers.

WHY HELP WITH FUNDRAISERS?

We have had several opportunities for you to help raise funds for your account balance and also for the band in general. Please participate as often as you can even if your balance is up to date for marching season. We can never have enough money in our general account. We are always in need of funds for the band. It would be great to have 100% participation from everyone in the band when it comes to fundraising. Remember that everyone in the band must raise $150.00 in fundraising. Please help your band in any way that you can!

Cook Book:

We are selling our Cookbook titled "Marching to the Table". They have around 700 recipes from family and friends of the Greer High Band. These cookbooks are a great idea for gifts or to have around the house. The cookbooks are now selling for $15.00. Please contact a Board Member, Mr. Norman or a band student at the High School or Ms. Saffy at Greer Middle School to get a copy. You can also e-mail us at info@greerbands.org.
